Opening a new checking account in 2015? There are some banks offering great new account bonuses right now, which essentially means they give you free money. The only thing you have to do is meet a few conditions and the extra funds are deposited into your account.
Here are a few of the best deals out right now:
Chase Cash Coupons
Chase has been offering cash coupons for quite some time now. Depending on the promotion and the method of payment you sign up for, you can get anywhere from $125 to $500 just for signing up!
Even though that’s not a ton of money, it may be a high enough incentive for you to go through the motions. Especially if you’re having financial struggles right now, or you just have something planned that you could use the money for!
Fifth Third Bank
These banks aren’t as common as Chase, but may be a good bet if you have one near you. Right now the offers they have available give you either $150 or $250 after all of the conditions are met.
Note that this offer is not available in all states right now. The only states it seems to be available are FL,GA,IL,KY,MI, MO,NC,OH,PA,TN and WV. If you live somewhere else, one of the other options will probably work out better for you.
BMO Harris Bank
Another more localized bank, these offers are available in AZ,FL,IL,IN,KS, MN,MO,NV,WA and WI. The amount of money you get depends on the type of checking account you sign up for, just like the other offers. You can get anywhere from $150 to $200 at this time.
Right now PNC Bank has a promotion regarding their virtual wallet. If you sign up and fulfill certain requirements, you can get up to $300. Note that PNC isn’t available in all states, so look to see if you have any nearby before you get too excited.
Bank of America
BOA is popular for their Keep the Change program. The idea is that anytime you swipe your debit card, it is rounded up and the extra money is sent to a savings account.
So for example, let’s say you purchase something for $7.35. Since there are 65 cents left until you reach the next whole number, BOA will automatically transfer those 65 cents from your checking account into savings.
Occasionally BOA will implement a matching program, where everything you saved is matched (to a point). So if you sign up and have 90 cents transferred over, BOA gives you 90 cents as well.
With banks across the nation, this may be a good choice for you. Right now Wells Fargo offers a $100 bonus if you sign up for one of their checking account programs. It isn’t as high as some of the other offers, but there’s a good chance that you won’t have one of the other banks nearby.
These programs won’t make you rich by any means, but they can certainly help. The key is to make sure you understand what you’re getting into, as some checking programs still require monthly fees!
